I do not accept insurance:
I intentionally practice as a private-pay provider. Here's why that matters for the quality of care I can offer:
Insurance companies typically require a mental health diagnosis to approve payment, even if what brings someone to therapy doesn't fit neatly into a diagnostic category — such as a relationship struggle, life transition, or general desire for personal growth. Insurers can also limit the number of sessions covered, dictate the type of treatment approach used, and require detailed clinical notes to be shared with them, which can affect the level of confidentiality in your care.
By working outside of insurance, I'm able to:
-
Tailor treatment specifically to you, rather than to what an insurance panel will approve
-
Keep your records more private, since I'm not required to submit diagnostic details or session notes to a third party
-
Offer flexibility in session length, frequency, and approach based on what's actually helpful — not what's billable
-
Focus fully on your goals, including specialties like [couples work, life transitions, faith-integrated therapy, etc. — swap in your actual specialties] without being constrained by what a particular diagnosis code allows
I'm happy to provide a superbill so you can seek reimbursement through your insurance's out-of-network benefits if that's available to you.
I am an out-of-network (OON) provider, and will provide you with a superbill for services, upon request. If you are interested in working with me using your OON insurance, it may be helpful to know that most insurances begin reimbursing you for your sessions once you have met your OON deductible. I would recommend checking with your insurance about the following:-Your OON deductible amount-When your deductible starts & ends
